I have a good one. My 15 eco has close to 49,000 miles and has never given me any issues. I have towed an 8000lb camper from western Pa. to Maine and back as well as many miles towing my flat and box trailers. I used to haul oversized equipment and know the extra caution needed when hauling. My...
I am now at 38,000 miles on my 2015, I have only had it to dealer for routine service. No issues what so ever with my truck. I have not used the front cover yet and only found that I also have an engine heater a few days ago. I live in mid western Pa. and we have some -0 temps but the truck...
Could be an illusion but the front looks lower to me giving the truck a bit of wedge look. A taper built into the truck would boost mpg by reducing air resistance. I find my truck is very sensitive to air drag. I modified the mesh tailgate on my small trailer and picked up over 1 mpg. I made a...
I am running the Rotella T6 oil it doesn't get much better than that. I do not use any additives in my oil, I do use different fuel additives to compare mileage results. So far a couple ozs. of good 2 cycle oil in the tank had the same effect as an additive that claims it boosts cetane levels.
I don't know if there is a secondary filter on my Ram but the primary is under the bed above the drive shaft in front of the axle. I just put an aftermarket filter on mine, it didn't have the outer wrap the Mopar filter did. I just did my oil and filter change myself all the previous ones were...
Got my replacement from Mopar Wholesale Parts out of Avondale Az. Part number 68229365AA I have learned to be careful the cap can fool you and not be latched correctly.
I just turned my 2015 to 26,000 miles and my only issue was a rattle when it had 3500 miles. My dealer has a very good tech and he found the rattle I looked for for 3 months.
The ecoDs with 3.92 gears have quite a bit higher tow cap. than with 3.55s. I find that interesting as the gearing is the only difference in the specs. I compared. After a year of use I still think the 3.92 gears would by overkill in the 1500s, I'm very pleased mine has 3.55s.
Had my brother in as a passenger yesterday, he lives about 25 miles from me. My ecoD has averaged 22 mpg around the area while his gasoline truck has averaged 11 mpg. I'm a HAPPY guy.
There is some oil near the fill tube but not real bad. This oil change has 3000 miles on it, I would think that I would have more mess if the cap was missing the entire time. I ordered a new cap online at a cost of $55 with shipping. Expensive plastic!
I opened my hood today to fill the window wash fluid and found my oil fill cap is missing. I know there is a chance that it was not installed after oil change #2 at the dealer. The tech that did my service is very good and I suspect it worked loose and came off but who knows. Has anyone else had...
I am guilty of not doing enough research as Champion SynGold does in fact have an oil for the European diesel engines. I was only aware of
their oil for gasoline engines. Thanks to the members who helped educate me.
I just checked the specs and some oils in this thread owners say they used do not meet the requirements for the european diesel engines. DON'T RISK YOUR ENGINE WARRENTY THE 3.0 DIESEL IS COSTLY TO REPAIR or REPLACE!
Owners beware and check your manuals mine requires an oil with a euro classification. It says to only use an ACEA C3 SAE 5W-30
Synthetic low ash oil. One example is Pennzoil Ultra Euro L 5W-30 synthetic.
