Mine will make that type of sound in some situations also. I think it is some kind of unloader valve as my wife HHR-SS with turbo has made a similar sound occasionally the whole time we have owned it.

I have a2015 Ecodiesel and got the original update and yes there were lag issues and the towing mileage dropped. I got the updated version done and have been pretty happy with the results.

Pa. requires it be posted on the pumps but it's always posted at 40 so you have to take the vendors word if it's posted premium. At times I carry a glass container with lid and put a bit of fuel from the pump in it. I have noticed most better fuel seems to have a darker green tint around here.
