Wow, P0299 is for Turbo Under Boost, which will set the Service Electronic ThrottleControl message, I fail to see how the EGR cooler would affect that, but since there was and active recall for that system it doesn't hurt. Now the P245B is related to low voltage in the EGR Cooler circuit which...
I hope someone can help me out there. I have a 2019 eco diesel and the red light came on and the message is to "Service Electronic ThrottleControl". It came on and doesnt shut off. I can put my foot into the Throttle and it feels like I'm forcing it. It'll sound like it's Reving up but won't...
Got lucky for sure! Mine did this back in late Aug with a CPS fault. It’s covered under the tone wheel warranty, but there are no parts available from MOPAR and they want to take care of the High Pressure Fuel Pump recall, and change some fuel system components with the recall. Parts won’t be...
...with that dumb emissions update that makes this truck run so lean. I'm happy with the truck but now I have that service electronic throttlecontrol light come on yesterday. Work done so far, new injectors at 32k, new egr, DEF system, and I have these recalls about the magnet or whatever...
I have a 2017 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. In mid-April I got the Service Electronic ThrottleControl message with the DTC P0299 (77,000 miles). After some research I decided to try cleaning the soot out of the MAP and sensor then clear the code. Service Electronic ThrottleControl message with the DTC...
...full delete with SFT stage 2 tune, straight pipe, etc.. been basically trouble free now at 170,000mi. until this service electronic throttlecontrol...
i get to checking intake, connections to turbo, to intercooler, to throttle valve. check harness under the dash, harness under the cab inside...
did you have a tune/delete?
did you have to get any additional tune once the butterfly valve was removed?
did you simply remove the 2 screws and the plate that were attached to the shaft?
I would also add that if it already has that many miles on, it was well taken care and not prone to accidents he issues that 10% of owners have. Those are of course the ones we hear the most about…also, it’s great from towing and has plenty of torque. Just make sure you check the specs for that...
i own 2014 ED with 175k miles. DiD full delete and tune at 80k. No problems from 80-175k until recently. The throttlecontrol butterfly valve has proven to be the issue. After fixing several CELs and continuing to get into limp mode I elected to simply remove the butterfly valve and have seemed...
Update. Back on the road! To no surprise the tone ring was the issue. Bought the replacement for $25 and had a shop do the work for a fair price. Onto tuning next! 😁
I meant covered under recall, not warrant. and the fuel pump recall hasn’t been completed, not injector pump. 🤦🏻♂️ I didn’t call yesterday, but I am going to in a little bit.
...one for injector pump. Yesterday I back out of the drive and shift to D and it lurches forward and flashes the message about the throttlecontrol, pull up codes and it’s the CKP. It had the emissions recall done that should have flashed the PCM to read Camshaft readings and ignore the CKP...
At my last count the Service Electronic ThrottleControl message was triggered by 88 engine control situations. I do not know the capabilities of your local tuner to catch each and everyone of these situations. But I will say you need to have a real time date scanner with DTC clear capabilities...
...the engine, used AlfaOBD to clear codes, and took it for a spin. Engine light did not come on this time. The "Service Electronic ThrottleControl" message did not appear, and it's driving normally! Amazing. I don't think I can own this vehicle without AlfaOBD.
I also just received my GDE...
My dad has a 2016 ED and recently towed his 5th wheel trailer about 50 kms and the service electronic throttlecontrol came on and the truck went into limp mode, any ideas what could have caused this issue?
You make my most analytical day seem simple. Keep it simple. Yep the Crank Position Sensor and Ring. One of the reflash recalls was to supplant the Crank Position Sensor as primary to the Camshaft Position Sensor, this was supposed to allow you to limp in when the Crank Tone Ring grenades (as...
...been pleased with the vehicle. Recently I became a student and victim of the apparently common lightning bolt, “service electronic throttlecontrol”. I know there are many threads and videos about this, (I’ve sleeplessly searched, studied and noted all relative causes I’ve come across of)...
Dude, had the same thing, i had my own ext. warranty. They replaced the tone wheel on the crank since it still run the throttlecontrol. Est bill 700.00 without warranty.
