Aftermarket Wheels and Tire with TPMS?

Hey guys, I had purchased aftermarket wheels and tires for my previous 2010 1500 and I have now put them on my 2014 EcoDiesel, the TPMS worked in my last truck with the aftermarket wheels and tires and the stock EcoDiesel's TPMS worked with the factory wheels and tires but the aftermarket wheel and tire sensors aren't registering now. I tried putting the factory caps on the aftermarket valve stem and that didn't work either, any suggestions? I have driven a few hundred miles in the last few days and it still isn't coming up.

The guy at my local tire shop said that each vehicle has a code for the TPMS. So if you switched from one ram to another I think the code has to be rewritten?

Killer setup by the way! I'm waiting on my 962s, should be in tomorrow or Friday!

Thanks Murph for the info! I'll have to see how to get that taken of. Post a picture of your setup when you're all done.

I believe that you will find that the TPMS sensors are different from 2013 on

That would make sense, I do have the Ecos original TPMS stem caps on my aftermarket wheels if that changes anything.

I got the years wrong,
2010-2013 Dodge RAM 1500/2500/3500 TPMS Sensor OE Schrader 56029398AA 433MHz 20398.

The TPMS Relearn Procedure for the Schrader 20398 original equipment tire pressure sensor is very simple and will require no programming, relearn, or diagnostic tools.
Your vehicle will automatically learn the new tire pressure sensors after driving for 10 minutes or more above 15 MPH.
When the low tire pressure indicator is lit, one or more of your tire pressures are significantly under-inflated or over-inflated.
"SERVICE TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM," "TIRE PRESSURE UNAVAILABLE", or "CHECK TPM SYSTEM" will be displayed in the Electronic Vehicle Information Center and the low tire pressure indicator will flash for about 60-75 seconds every ten minutes when a system fault is detected.

Different part No. for 2014,
clear1x1.gif

2014 Dodge RAM
TPMS 68249197AA 433 MHz for Ram

  • Manufacturer: Mopar
  • Part Number: 68249197AA
  • Part: Tire Pressure Sensor
  • Replaces: 68239720AA, 68239720AB, 68239720AC, 68157568AA, 68157568AB
It appears that 2014-2016 take a different sensor the valve stem cap will not make any difference.
