A can't decide between taking a 50K mile rated all year AT tire with milder tread but exceptional winter performance. Or going to a highway mannered very aggressive MT tire with cold weather capabilities. I'm going to a 10 ply 34 that has already been decided so measurements will be according.

The ATW has 50k Warranty, winter Siping, and very impressive performance ratings. 16/32nd's of tread. 56# each. 3750# weight rating per tire.

The STT PRO is a MT rated tire, so no mileage Warranty. It has similar compound with silica and it has light Siping to provide some winter, wet and ice performance. Staggered blocks actually engineered to be noise canceling. So it's a more aggressive and off road orientated tire but with highway manners. Or so it's read to behave well on road anyways. This has 19/32nds of usable tread, weighs 63# each due to the additional tread depth and stronger side wall compared to the atw. Also 10ply at 3750#/tire.

Factory sr-a's are 41# each but only 4 ply 33" rated at 2601#/tire.

My truck is a highway queen, I put a lot of miles on annually but I do get off road and when I do I ask a lot of my tires and need to be confident when I do so that they are capable.

I'm at the Canadian Border and in Mn so these are well suited to my needs. And these are the only tires in question and I have narrowed down. But every time I question this I lean towards the opposite tire like there's no right decision. I'm considering two very new and very high end tires and though they are much different they are both extremely applicable to my needs.

Any help on a final decision would be great. Thanks in advance.

I like the SST Pros for the looks. But no doubt you'd get more miles out of the other ones though. I'm in the same boat but with a couple different tires.

On factory Goodyear sr-a's 3/32nd's of wear granted me almost 20k highway miles though on this tire I'm sure it would be a little faster even with a lesser revolution of a larger tire. That extra usable tread on the Stt pro isn't likely to go to waste on mileage and longevity. I think for this reason I'm now leaning towards the pro but I'm still unable to decide for sure.

I took Goodyear's off the first week I bought my Eco. I went with the Cooper and went through a hell of allot of snow in Copenhagen NY. I put 8000 miles on them so far and absolutely love them

Which model cooper tire did you go with?

I know this isnt what you asked for, but I would really look into Bfg K02's. Out of all the tires ive owned they've been the best for me.

Yeah I'm not getting k0's but thank you. Maybe if the cooper attempts turn out poorly. I've always been extremely fond of cooper

They keep remaking the stt series over and over again. The Cooper dealer in my area dont push them but the s/t maxx seems to be a great tire and the atw looks good. But ive never seem any around.

I've seen the Max and I don't care for it much. It's nearly a twin to the nitto g2's. And tire technology is changing and cooper has always had great tires by using a single compound tread instead of layered tread on most manufacturers. Where you have a soft grip at first but after 10k you're just on rock hard mileage rubber

I'm in need of tires too, been at work a little over a week in Roosevelt, Utah on a drilling rig and had two flats with a total of 6 miles on gravel roads, with stock SRA tires with a whopping 1100 miles on them! What's the biggest tire these dodges can clear?

MOST clear 34s or a 275/65/20 without modifications, but every truck is a little different. Some guys clear 35s with only a leveling kit. But most 35x12.5x20s are actually 34.5" but wider. Some cases you need 1/8" spacers as well. Every tire is a little different. Check section width.

Also do you have coil suspension or factory air?

The tires I'm questioning, due to the extra tread depth the Stt measures nearly the same height as a 35 it's just a little narrower. 34.49". Where as a standard a/t 275/65 would be around 34.2.

Anyways I see a lot of people that opt to go to a 65 series without much modification if any

Do you have the factory 20" rims @Dcullen ?

If so go to 65 series Tire, it is an lt Tire not passenger and you have unlimited options with the 10ply rating

Pro comp at sport is a load range e tires in the stock 275/60R20 with a 60k tread life warranty. It would be an excellent tire for your application. Bfg k02 is another tire to consider in the stock size its a lt tire with a d load range in the stock size. Going to a taller tire well rob power and decrease mileage for no gain.
