Diesel is bad for that. Fresh oil will be black after a few minutes of running. I wouldn't let that scare you.

It's amazing how much power modern day engines are now making compared to then.

Has anyone heard of any changes for the 2018 EcoDiesel engine? It's been in the Ram since 2014, so 3 model years.. perhaps it could be 4 or 5 before any big changes I guess.. but with the random engine issues and other little things, I would hope they have refined the engine somewhat.

Welcome Chappy! It seems no one has a fix for Electronic Service Control light. Every time someone reports it, the dealer either resets something or throws parts at the truck hoping to fix it. Some folks have issues, but, I wouldn't let that scare you. Hopefully when the truck is fixed you'll...

Welcome, most likely you lost the motor. Which is not uncommon.. hopefully the dealer can you get a new one put in within a timely matter. Since the dealer has done all of your maintenance, it should make the warranty process go smoother! So that's a plus.
