I was only able to get about 6 gallons of distill water in. I have the truck jacked up. I bet the def was sitting in one corner. Hoping that will be enough distilled water.

Yea I'd assume any clean water would be enough to dilute it and dissolve the deposits, unless you end up needing some acidity

In order tondonthat now, I'll need to drain some of the distilled water. If it doesn't work after letting the distilled water sit over night, I'll try that tomorrow.

Just Make sure and flush that out good before refilling. (Hence my opinion on just using the hose to let it overflow and flush out [I know winter isn't the ideal time to do this])

My hoses are all put away. I'm hoping the distilled water will work fine. How long should I wait before I drain the distilled water? What would happen if i just left distilled water in the tank?

Is your def needle on E? You should be able to put cycle the ignition and see if it's registering a fluid level change by now even? Don't even need to start it.

Also owners manual states to only fill def to 2/3 or something like that because of expansion when freezing in climates that see sub 13F to not damage the tank. So keep that in mind and don't totally top it off.

I'm sure overnight wouldn't hurt but I'd think by now or even this evening if it's going to work it'd probably register on the needle.

BTW, did you ever check the Def injector on the exhaust?

Also it takes a while for the def gauge to register change, up to like 10 Minutes? So if you put your key in the on position and just it sit for a while to give it enough time to register. Just a quick key cycle may not register the present level.

Oh.. I always top it off. The needle is buried on E. I did not check the injector. I looked briefly, but didn't see it.

Going to go look now.

Just drove for about 20 minutes with distilled water. No change. I' going to drain a gallon and put a gallon of vinegar in. I'l let it sit for a few hours and then drain that. Refill with distilled water again. Drain that. Hopefully it will work.

Don't know what state you're in and what emissions regulations you have.. if they don't fix it under some extended Warranty are you going to bite the 2k repair or thinking to tune it?
