Welcome!
Sorry to hear of the troubles. These trucks are no different from others, they all break. Sometimes we just get unlucky.. I wouldn't let this repair steer you away from the platform. If you like it, and still enjoy the truck just drive it and be happy.
Here is a post with that location: http://www.ecodieselram.com/forum/threads/engine-block-heater.407/#post-2438
Also, if yours doesn't have it. You can buy it on Amazon. Link is in that thread.
Before going the delete route, I would have the issue taken care of first(as long as you're under warranty). Then go the delete route.. it would be bad if the delete for some reason didn't take care of the trouble code.
I posted it here: http://www.ecodieselram.com/forum/threads/tsb-18-078-16-engine-oil-viscosity-upgrade-and-flash-enhancements.1178/
I actually had the copy and forgot to update the TSB section.
Official TSB is attached here.
This bulletin involves reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the Transmission Control Module (TCM). It also involves changing the engine oil with new 5W40 engine oil and applying a sticker to the engine oil filler cap. An addendum card will need to...
We all need to post more happy stories.:D People are going to come here to say the bad things, not the good ones. With that said, I still don't think it's as bad as it seems.
I feel like since VW is paying up big time, some people are trying to go that direction just for the $$$. Time will tell. I do wish FCA would address the engine failures.
